Chunky Monkey

Well we have quite the chunky little monkey around here! He's growing so fast! To prove it, here are some pictures:

Look at that pot belly! To be fair, it's kind of plopped to one side, but  he's definitely putting on some pounds!  And that is the quilt Grandma Jones made him. He likes to lay on it, even if he does spit up on it all the time...

Verlene made me this awesome wrap to haul Will around in. I really like it, but not as much as my Moby wrap (which was given to us by someone who's done having kids). The Moby is easier to get him into, but I don't think it will work for him when he gets heavier, so then we'll be using this wrap more often! We like to use the wraps when we take him shopping. Hiram is the coolest dad in the store when he walks around with me with Will strapped to him.

His big eyes! And look...his hair has all come out on top of his head...he's getting that old man look! But his hair looks redder all the time!

He's filling out his 3-month clothes...Hiram says this one makes him look like a wrestler!

Proud much?

He is escaping from his swaddle blanket! He's getting too strong for that one. We mostly use the one Chelsea and Andrew gave us now because it contains him a little bit better. But the kid mostly lives in a swaddle blanket. I'm glad they were invented.

He only does this Hiram (so far). Hiram holds him and he grabs his shirt and holds on for dear life! I think he just really likes being held by his daddy. I like it when Daddy holds him, too. It's nice to have a break sometimes!

Daddy likes to play with Will and talk to him and make faces at him.

That is a fat face pic. It doesn't always look that fat. He must have just eaten. And as a sidenote, I love that onesie. It is so cute. (It's the stripes, right Rosey?)

And sometimes Will eats a TON, and Mommy really craves meat by the end of the day. It's a good thing my in-laws raise cattle and generously give us meat all the time! We had some yummy steak fajitas.

Happy baby!

Easter Weekend

Okay, so I'm still getting caught up on blog posts...This one is from Easter Weekend. These pictures were taken the Saturday before Easter. Will was 2 weeks old.

All Seth really wants is the camera.
We spent Easter weekend in Cub River and Mom and Dad were already in Pocatello, so everyone came down for a visit! It was great fun. We all spent Saturday afternoon together.
Will loves his Aunt Kristy!

Preston is super cute.

Me and Mom eating our yummy lunch.

We got that game for Karl for Christmas. The lady at the store said that it's a really good mind game, so of course Karl loves it! He is so smart. But I think he has a pretty even match with Kathy playing him!

Emma is a good egg hunter!

Looks yummy!

Brandon and Preston

Emma you are so darling.

Don't worry Emma! Some day you will be as tall as your daddy.

Seth was not nearly as interested in the Easter Egg Hunt as he was in Torger's awesome bike!

Torger loves the sandbox.

Good job Seth!

I think Karl and Larisa want to find some eggs, too...

Some pictures from week 1

This post is long past due, but I just found these pictures. I can hardly believe that Will is 6 weeks old tomorrow! These are a few pictures of the week after he was born. Will was born on a Friday, and on Monday, my mom and my sister, Kathy came down to help out for the day, and to meet little Will. It was so wonderful to have them there! I remember that Monday morning Hiram left to go to class, and I just didn't really know what to do next, so I just cuddled Will until Kathy got there later that morning.

Kathy brought Seth, of course! Seth is so much bigger than Will! And of course, all Seth wants to do is play with the camera.

Tiny little man!

Will loved cuddling with Grandma!

After he ate, Will used to like to fold his arms under his chin like this and just relax on Mommy's shoulder. It was kind of hard to get a picture of it, but this is a shot from above so you can see how cute he is; so relaxed!

Will loves to lay on our chest and go to sleep there. He loves his daddy!

Another great shot with Grandma Cole! I don't know what we would have done if Grandma hadn't come to help us out that first week. You're a life saver Mom!

Our Little Man

William has arrived! I now feel like I have a valid excuse for not posting anything for a month. Having a new baby takes a lot of time, but it is so great! We just loving having Will here in our home. He is so sweet and so darn good-lookin' (he got that from his handsome daddy). I know what you all really want to see if pictures, so I will post them now! Sorry that many of them are not great quality; a lot were taken on my cell phone. Also, these pictures are in no particular order...

I think this was the day after he was born. Love the blanket from Aunt Rosey!
 Day after he was born...
This was moments after he was born at the hospital. The look on my face is one of absolute shock that this was actually my baby! The doctor is actually stitching me up at this moment. He looked up at me and then told Hiram, "You better get a picture of that!" Can you tell that I had an awesome epidural? I'm sure my face would look much different if I was feeling what was going on!
Our first family picture! (Sorry for the fuzziness.) Look how tiny Will is! I think this was 3 days after he was born.
Cute little man. We LOVE this swaddle blanket/straight jacket. He sleeps much better with his arms pinned down. And he has the cutest little tucked in chin that you can kind of see in this picture. He also has a serious face a lot of the time, like he's looking at something and studying it. He's probably seeing all sorts of things that we can't see.
Sometimes we fall asleep while we put Will to sleep. We try to set a good example for him. :)
He loves his bink. And look how cute he looks here!
I had to put this picture in because those pj's use to belong to Will's daddy. And they are one pair of pj's that still fit him. Yay.
Happy all swaddled up! He just finished eating, so he's especially content.
Looks kind of like he's praying, right? Sometimes he clasps his hands together while he nurses and it's like he is so grateful for his food! He does love to eat.
This is when he was 3 1/2 weeks old. He's getting bigger and more alert! And what a cute little onesie. :) Thanks Aunt Chelsea!
I love these overalls. And of course, this handsome man makes the outfit look even better! This picture was taken on Thursday, April 11, one day before his 4-week birthday.
He loves cuddling up on Grandpa's chest. This is pretty much his favorite position ever. He likes to look up into your eyes, and when he does that to me, my heart just melts! Lately, when I put him up to my shoulder to burp him, he has been stretching out his neck and holding his head up for as long as he can. He's getting so strong!
Kristy caught a picture of his cute little smiles! He smiles a lot now. I wished I had a his smiles this morning! He was a happy clam. :)

Moral of the story: being a mom is awesome. Hiram feels the same about being a dad. It's the hardest thing we've ever done, but the best thing we've ever done. I love that Will was born in the covenant, and we will be with him forever as long as we are faithful to the covenants we've made. We love our little man!
